Summary: We enjoyed our stay very much! We were thoroughly impressed with the level of "home comfort" the beach house provided. From many large, soft beach towels to all the beach equipment provided, everything was accounted for. The rooms even have laundry hampers! Air conditioning and water pressure was strong. The kitchen and main space were great. There were board games and books for our kids (ages 5 and 8). The screened in porch allowed for relaxing early mornings and meals outside. The walk to the beach was quick and easy - though we understood the need for the motorized cart very quickly given the steep walk down! We loved the donuts and sandwiches from the Broadkill store, and had ice cream a few nights too. The street is quiet, and the beach was never crowded! Our ONLY downside - which is in no way the fault of the host or house - was the jellyfish. I want to add this for future visitors just as a point of safety/awareness. The bay gets warm and has had increasing numbers of jellyfish. My husband and daughter were both stung, and we couldn't get in the water 4 of our 6 days there. Because Broadkill Beach is unincorporated, there are no lifeguard nor any posted signage about the risks. The beach breeze and temps during our stay meant we could still enjoy the beach and build sandcastles, collect shells, etc. We also went to Rehoboth and Cape May for a day and could enjoy the water and activities there. Just be prepared to be flexible if the jellies are around!
